Child Protection

Child Protection

Bunninadden GAA like every other GAA club in the country is required to abide by the associations policies and regulations on child protection for all our members. The GAA and any other organisation involved with children is legally bound by the legislation in the Children First Act 2015 which commenced in full on December 11th 2017.

What this means in practical terms for clubs like our is the following:

  • Garda vetting of all coaches and members with access to children
  • Mandatory attendance for all coaches at one of the GAA’s Child Protection Workshops. These workshops inform our coaches of their roles and responsibilities in protecting children.
  • Coaches are required to attend at least a foundation level coaching course.

See the below link for further information and a link to the new vetting platform, foireann.ie.
